Mutiny BBQ Company: Asbury Park's Premier Spot for Flavorful Chicken Wings & Sandwiches

We’ve been visiting Mutiny since their opening year. We love this place. Lately we’ve placed orders for catering for different family and friend events at the house. These are photos from those pickups. Don’t forget to order their homemade pickles, slaw and house made sauce. The best bbq in this area.

Love this place. The food is incredible and I never leave here hungry. Super friendly and welcoming staff. I got the pulled pork and my husband got the brisket I think. Sausage was sold out that day but it’s okay because we will be back!

BBQ restaurants aren't ones we usually frequent but we were in the mood for wings and fries and mutiny had both. You order in the back, find a place to sit, grab your own plates and utensils and wait. We ordered the wings with buffalo sauce, an order of fries and the smallest order of pickles. The fries were greasy, but good, and the pickles sweet and sour at the same time. The wings were nicely grilled, but the buffalo sauce wasn't very acidic or spicy. Prices are fair.

I ordered takeout for the Super Bowl, 2 lbs of brisket, 2 full racks of ribs, and 1 lb of pulled pork. The brisket was dry and sliced extremely thick almost a 1/2 lb per slice. Come on you could do better than that. The ribs were also over cooked and chewy. I was hoping for fall off the bone meat, that was not the case. I reheated both in the oven at 250 degrees (covered) for over and hour. The meat softened a bit. It needed a lot of bbq sauce for flavor. Pulled pork was OK and also needed a lot of sauce. This is the first and last time I will order here.

Living a few blocks away, Mutiny quickly became one of our go to spots and never disappoints. The food is always amazing (brisket sliced OR chopped, the smoked turkey, wings, vinegar slaw, collard greens, fries are unreal, and the smoked fried chicken sandwich are all bangin). Takeout is usually quick, staff is always friendly, including and especially the owner, Tom. 5/5, best BBQ around.

The food here is excellent. I'm all about bbq but this place is a little different, so the name is fitting. To start, the 'baked beans' were kidney beans in an in-house bbq sauce. I didn't not think they would be good but they surprised me. I was expecting the typical dry chalky flavor of a kidney bean but I was wrong. These beans were cooked in the bbq sauce enough to soak into them. It was really very good. Got sliced Brisket and chopped. The sliced Brisket was made exactly how some of the best bbq places around the country make it like (i visit bbq all over east coast). It's very hard to cook Brisket right but they absolutely nailed it! The chopped Brisket was closer to a pulled Brisket but still excellent. Im used to the burnt end style chopped Brisket but this was still a great contender. Mac and cheese was good as well. I'd say definitely best in the area (definitely way better than that liquid smoked place if you know it). Worth going to for sure Overall it was a more unique bbq place and I would definitely go back if I was in the area. I'd honestly say it's in the top bbq places in nj.. I'm determined to try every bbq place in the state but this one is up there with one of my favorites (mostly smoked rt 9) Pickles and pickled onions were exactly what you would expect, not sweet like other places. Also the vibe in there was very cool with exception to the Springsteen stuff

We have eaten here several times now, and every time the food has been exceptional. The ribs, wings, pulled pork, potato salad and mac and cheese are all of great quality, and the specials are always tasty and memorable. The pulled pork in particular is so soft you could almost forget you have food in your mouth.

I was here 2 times together with my wife, and we love this place. The staff is super nice, the restaurant is clean and the food is just crazy good. We have tried smoked chicken thighs, brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and they were just awesome.
